It’s good to be back!

During the past year, blogging had taken a bit of a back seat due to the many changes that were happening in my life! I returned to work after my first maternity leave during the summer of 2018. It was great going back to work as I had missed my work colleagues, however being a working mum and commuting every day was hectic and I ended up spending most of my free time with my family. I’m glad the company I work for took the wellbeing of its employees seriously and they support working mothers.

Approximately 6 months after returning to work we found out we were expecting our second baby. This was exciting news however, it came with the usual pregnancy ailments like morning sickness, fatigue etc. We welcomed our second daughter a few months ago. I can confidently say, I have mastered to art of being able to function with little sleep!

I had a chance to reflect on my pregnancy journeys and how having a bigger family affected our finances. I looked at my first pregnancy journey in terms on expectations, what I learnt and implemented the 2nd time round. In the first pregnancy I was susceptible to buying unnecessary stuff for the baby because I didn’t know what to expect. Every time I saw an advert or watched a video about expectant mothers, I always felt like I needed to by a lot of things. In future blogs I will be sharing on what I have learned, tips I used, books I have enjoyed reading and more nuggets on finances for families and business owners!
